Residential solar panel systems are a very popular way to use renewable energy to help save the environment and put money back in your pocket. You can actually build these panels yourself and power your home while saving up to 80% of your energy bill.

The sun is the most powerful source of heat for the earth. It’s the most abundant form of energy that is available to us. Using the sun to harness power for residential solar panel systems will benefit the environment by making us less dependent on fossil fuels. It’s time we start thinking about this before we run out of those fossil fuels.

There are three different types of solar panel systems that you can build. It is very important that you determine which system will work best for you before beginning work. Here’s a breakdown of the three systems.

The most simple and least expensive way to go is to use the grid intertied electricity system. With this system, any electricity that is produced by your solar panels is funneled directly into your home electrical network. An inverter is connected into your breaker box that converts the DC current into AC power.

If you think you’d like to able to store your electricity and save it for days where the sun doesn’t shine a lot, then the grid intertied system with battery backup should be a consideration. On days when the sun shines a lot, any extra electricity that is produced will be sent into a battery storage area. Your control panel will determine when it should be used.

The third system that’s available is necessary for those homes that are not attached to the grid. You most likely live in a more rural area if this is your situation. The off-grid solar solar electrical system will provide all of the electricity for your home. This system is very similar to the grid intertied system with battery backup but with the off-grid system it is necessary to install a backup generator for things to work properly.

Are you chomping at the bit now to get started? You’ve decided which system works for you and you’re ready to start building? There’s just one more thing that you need. You need a good step by step guide that will teach you how to build your system. But use caution because you need to find a truly good guide.

I recommend that you find a guide for your residential solar panel systems that gives you very clear and detailed instructions. These instructions should include diagrams and videos. You need complete assembly and installation guides. It’s also very important to have a complete materials list. You can actually build your residential solar panel systems over a weekend if you’re properly prepared.
