If you are looking to increase your home’s curb appeal, it is something as simple as focusing on your front door and entryway. This is the first thing that many notice when they pass by or visit your home. A beautiful entry way and a path to your front door can make the appearance of your home look much different.

Changing the appearance of your entryway is quick and easy. A coat of paint, among other things, is one of the best ways to change its appearance. You do not need to choose a crazy color in order to make your entryway stand out. Painting you front door a complimentary color to the color of your home will do just the trick. For instance if you have a tan home, then a brown door will look nice. If you are looking to add more color to your entry way there are other ways to do so without painting your door and using obscure colors.

Plants and flowers do a great job of bringing in some color and life to a boring front door. Hanging baskets and flower pots can be traded out over the course of a season and can be swapped out fairly easily for new looks. Another easy way to make a nice difference is in the front door hardware. A nice, high quality door knob set will help protect your home from intruders and will also make it look more beautiful.

When you go shopping for your door hardware you want to make sure that you do not skimp on the price. This hardware is going to protect you from intruders and you want to make sure it is the best you can afford. A good rule of thumb to follow is the old saying, “You get what you pay for.” Along with the door hardware you should also consider upgrading your entryway lighting.

Most homes have an outside light beside the door. Houses usually have at least one fixture, most homes have one on either side of the door. There are so many different styles and looks to choose from, it could be difficult to make a decision. Another nice thing about these lights is that they are pretty simple to change, the wiring is already done and a few simple steps are needed. Just be sure to disconnect the power before doing any electrical work.
